So... A year ago today is my divorce.  Some folks have celebrations on these days.  Some even send thank you cards.  Me... I just focus on my life.   And after all, what ever time I was married.  It had value.  But when someone divorces, it sends you in one of two directions.  You live in the past, or you live for the future.   I got back to life in a hurry.  While I put my kids first, I got back to living.  And you know what?  I found I was taking better care of myself than I ever realized.   And with a little work, I was able to improve a lot.  One goal I had was a bit selfish... I wanted to rip my abs like in the movie 300.   If you visit my galleries you'll see I was well on my way when I stopped posting photos.  I didn't want to come off vain, but I couldn't help be proud of my effort.  After all, I was putting in the time.  But in the end, I figure, my girlfriend petting my stomach was all I ever needed in the way of appreciation.

So today she sends me another one of her famous e-mails...

I get a list of photos.  Photos of celebrities when they are young and again when they are older.  Her subject line: This should make you feel good.  LOL  Yeah... It does.  I think that of all things... my body is in better shape than most 21 year old men.  I don't drink soda, I laoth high fructrous corn syrup (although it's not proven to be a health hazard) in everything I eat (I even avoid yogurt with it) and my children already know these same common sense eating habits.  I hear the secret to old age is old parents, and I'm good there, but the secret to good health is good eating.  The secret to being in great shape is excercise.  My son stopped teasing me almost a year ago when he watched me dance every morning.   Now I do it 3 to 4 times a week.

It makes me wonder what lifestyle celebrities live, but in many cases... Hollywood takes care of them.  See below:

In the end, I feel no amout of stardom or money is worth letting myself go like these folks have.  I was a big fan of Arnold Schwarzenegger.  I don't understand why someone so into fitness could just let themself go.  I told myself at 12 when I was in gym class, "I'll never let myself go."
