I've had a lot of fun recently combing my logs and checking out the referring search links to my blog.  What I've learned is that people really are like me.  Or at least the people like me find me. LOL

My article about men having periods, opened my eyes to the fact MANY people think about this concept.  Google it yourself.

Then there is the Super Bowl 42 recap articles I wrote.  Those got a TON OF HITS.  Apparently the fan reaction and reaction to the game in general is important to journalist or some group out there.

What is great is articles from my how to make homemade pretzels (baked another batch with the boys tonight after dinner) to my movie reviews rope in a lot of new readers and I'm really thankful for that.

I've received a great many compliments on my writing style and requests to write a book.  Folks... if I could only tell you... The fact is I really can't speak to what I write about for another year.  But I'm fine with that.  I really am.  It gives me time to edit, add, and re-write as things change.  And no... it's not a book about my ex.  I know that seems to be the commonly conceived notion.   Just hang tight and it will make sense one day.

In the meantime, you should stick around because one day you'll be able to say, "I knew him when..."

OK enough checking in and writing today.  I got to get on with movie night with my boys.

So I post this article today about how I can see everyone and and where they come from to find or use my blog.

What happens...?

Someone tries to tip me off by running the same google search on a user at my blog.   What happens is the search leads back to my blog to my users list and it shows who it is.

I would have never known this person was on my blog had someone not done that.

The freaky way people communicate with me is amazing.

Really, you wouldn't believe the things I know.  LOL

View Article  Good Days and Bad Days

FYI to friends and family members,  today was a good day in family court. Things worked out great for my son and ultimately my children.  While I still have things to address and our final court hearing comes this August, I'm hopeful that over time my children will be kept safe and my rights as a father will be honored.

I know some people expect me to write a smug article etc... You won't see that.  For one, I don't feel smug.  Secondly, while I've complained about being cheated on and adultery, raising my children is a whole other issue the two matters are separate.  They are separate in the adult world.  And the matter of adultery doesn't even exist in the world of my children. I keep my conversations and tone about their mothers positive when speaking to them about their mothers.  Say I was bitter at a point about the divorce, but I have never been bitter about my children.  The fact is our life improved drastically after the divorce.

Today was a good day for my children.   I pray for every single father out there that you get the support I've been given through-out my experience.  It can be very hard, and you can feel isolated and alone, don't allow yourself that feeling.  Take control, keep your friends close and be sure to focus on your children.   You need time to yourself, you need activities for yourself, people to care for and be cared for, but most of all you tune EVERYTHING out when it comes to your children and you do what you always did best before you were divorced or separated, be a good father.  Everything else falls into place.

I've learned a hell of a lot this past year about family court.  I've learned so much about the ...   more »

View Article  Using my words...

I've been complimented in a backhanded way over time.   People seem to look up concepts and perspectives on subjects and find my articles.

The backhanded compliment is that people steal my content!  LOL  What can I do? It's the Internet.

You see, when someone looks up something on the Internet and winds up at my blog... I know where they came from and even what keywords they used in Google or other search engines.  That is great information to have folks.  And that aren’t all, but I'll leave it that.

My point is that in one case, just yesterday I had 12 searches alone for a small obscure article I wrote about 'Cowards'.  I wrote it a year ago and posted it recently in my RANTS section.   You my recall it, it's titled, How do you talk to a coward?

Here is the post on a discussion board where they lifted my article content. :)

My article at the time didn't mean much to me.  I wrote it one of those days when I was wishing I could get to the truth. Heck that is why I didn't post it for a year!  Thankfully I've come to terms with that person and I even learned they were not even the coward I pegged them for.  Life is so funny.  As an aside... It turns out in life, that so many of us are lied about that if we ONLY would go to the source or the person implicated in a bad situation, there is usually a good explanation for things.  Some people just get used and get labeled as something they are not.   I say this for a reason.  If you are someone that thinks poorly of me and you've been hearing things about me that conflict with the positive ...   more »

View Article  Men's Advice - Dining with women while dating

Today I'd like to discuss dining out in the dating process.   Men, regardless of if you are contemporary or a traditionalist you need to know the basics.  As to whether they apply to your date is a relative decision you should be savvy enough to know.

In the subject area of dining out (formal and fine dining), we are assuming this is at least a fine dining experience.  This dinner logic means a location and etiquette you intend to impress your lady with.  If you are wearing jeans or you both wandered in without planning, this article will bear little relevance.

First you should understand that in today's world women get to have their cake and eat it too.  It's not your part to question this; it's your role to accept it whether you agree or not.   Don't be stubborn or open this up to discussion with a lady.   In short I'm offering that women have fought for equality to men, yet still expect chivalry.  And frankly, you should always be willing to be chivalrous.   Assuming she is an emotionally healthy woman she may demand you vote for a woman candidate because it’s time for woman in the Whitehouse, while justifiably expecting you pull out her chair so she may sit. Life is full of seemingly contradictory states of being but not everything is scientific and manners are a dying art.

Again I'm speaking of a dinner date, not a business lunch which is diametrical in rules.   The rules are drastically different here. You'd insult a woman at a business lunch with much of these rules.  I know… it’s just another one of life’s coded distal causes to man’s stress.

PLAN YOUR DINNER ENGAGEMENT

Plan ahead.  With both your date and the restaurant.  In terms of your date, does she loath seafood or love ...   more »
