What did you eat today? I had a yogurt, grape tomatoes and baby carrots as a snack this morning. For lunch I made a strawberry and banana smoothie with left over sliced pork roast and a vegetable medley. And here is my point. Most people eat to satisfy a feeling. I've learned you can do better. And from it I've lost over 27 pounds. My waist is completely chiseled and my ability to focus on work has increased exponentially. My eldest son has profound respect for my change too. He has complemented me on my ability to maintain my dignity (at least in front of him) in a time of genuine sorrow.
You can't eat your way through tough times. And you can't eat your way through life without thinking about what you are putting in it. In just 4 months I've gone through dramatic physical and physiological changes all because of my better eating habits. You can do the same.
Don't eat everything on your plate just because it is there. Of course the best thing is not to put too much on your plate. It is harder to control if you go out to dinner. Clearing that plate of pasta isn't necessary if you are full. Order meals where portions are controlled if you can. I think in those terms now.
Don't eat before you go to bed. Eating a snack is OK. Just keep moving and burn it off. It is not that hard either to avoid very fattening foods. You don't have to eat ice-cream but if you do, it is not hard to keep the portion down. Try eating some grape tomatoes or carrots before you have that ice-cream. You'll already be partially full and those good enzymes will got work on the bad.
Get vinegar in your routine. I eat salads like crazy. The roughage clears your colon and the vinegar cleans your blood.
Exercise. I get in two routines a day now but you can get by with one. I start each day bouncing from four recorded fitness shows working on everything from my abs to arms and of course dancing. I can't say enough for dancing. It is so uplifting and sets your day up right. You can't help but want to eat the right thing when your mind is right.
That's funny! The best part about eating better is everything. Mentally you really feel great and that spills over into everything you do. Hey Liv, if you are out there. I'm a noble upstanding man that is feircly loyal to his woman and family! Alas, I won't hold my breath, but I can at least continue eating well. Someone else will be interested in a good eater. LOL
