Today is International Woman's Day, March the 8th.  Here in America it is not celebrated.   However the United States government has officially signed on to support it.  What is it about?  Sadly this day was created by a socialist movement.   It's widely celebrated in the European states and of course Russia and old soviet republics like Ukraine.    Hint to all you American men thinking of marrying a European woman, they will want you to buy them flowers on this day etc...  They don't much care if it was created by socialist.  They just want you to pamper them one more day out of the year.

Here is a list of the current governments supporting International Woman's Day.

- Australian Government
- Australian Capital Territory Government, Australia
- Government of Alberta, Canada
- Government of Ontario, Canada
- Government of Saskatchewan, Canada
- New South Wales Government, Australia
- New Zealand Government
- Queensland Government, Australia
- United States Government
- Welsh Assembly Government, UK

As you can see, it is a small number.

Meanwhile Like I mentioned, it is big in Europe.  International Woman's Day is an official holiday in the following European countries:

-Armenia
-Russia
-Azerbaijan
-Belarus
-Bulgaria
-Kazakhstan
-Kyrgyzstan
-Macedonia
-Moldova
-Mongolia
-Tajikistan
-Ukraine
-Uzbekistan

So guy's get out there and celebrate woman's solidarity!  They are united!  They are strong!  They want you to pamper them on this day while they further the agenda of women's solidarity!  Um.... I don't get it.

My point is this...Strangely enough, wouldn't it just be better if women were happy with being loved and appreciated?  No offense women but I have a hard time celebrating a day that doesn't celebrate what makes a woman unique and great.  God made women different than men for a reason.  Women are meant to be gentle creatures that care and nurture.  This day is not about celebrating women. It is about women’s rights which I'm all for.  Just don't mix the two because that is unfair to men.   I've often heard the saying, "You can't have it both ways."  That applies here.  If women want to celebrate this day for their rights, I'm on board.  I will march with you and assist in making sure you get all that you have coming to you.   But don't ask me to bring you flowers, take you to dinner and romance you all night on the day you want to celebrate solidarity.  It is contrary to the point of the day.  Again, a woman can be both feminine and assertive.  A woman can be both ladylike and strong.   I like those qualities. But at least don't try to make this day two diametrically opposed points of celebration.  If I'm wrong, I'm open to discussion.

NOTE TO ALL WOMEN: This article is tounge in cheek.  Don't get excited.  I really do love women.   Especially the ones God got right.  They know who they are.  LOL
