The fact that someone on California would consider this is a joke....  The headline reads:

California lawmakers propose lowering voting age to 14 for state elections

Why?  But at least a yin to the yang is voiced in the article.

Said Assemblyman Ray Haynes: "There's a reason why 14-year-olds and 16-year-olds don't vote. They are not adults. They are not mature enough. They are easily deceived by political charlatans."

Then the article closes with this quote:

"If we could vote, politicians would see us as votes, not just kids, and they would take our issues seriously," said Robert Reynolds, a student at Berkeley High School.

My response to this... Duh kid. And we'd all see a brand new LOW for politicians attempting to win votes.  And yes, you would easily decieved because you are 14.  Look me up when you are 25 or 30 and you'll  agree.  And you'll be saying the same thing to another 14 year old.  But that is another rant.
