Talk about agenda based organizations... First allow me to say this. I voted for McCain. Was I in love with him? No. Do I hate Obama, no way. In this election I was not really excited about either candidate. And while I liked Obama's call for change, I've seen that campaign call for as many years as I've been voting. But I will add this, with the Senate and House picking up democratic seats... he's in a position to execute change. He's poised to effect it where others have not, but I digress...

The 2008 election night was historical, I wouldn't miss it for anything; but Obama's victory was well tainted by media's agenda to get him into office.

The big question now is, what will CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC and print outlets such as the LA Times etc... report on for the next 4 years?

So here is my point... During this election I've seen media bias. Not because I'm a registered Republican, but because I've seen it. Just recently a study (albeit by a conservative group) documented factually that news coverage on Sarah Palin was negative 18-1. That's 18 negative articles for every 1 positive article or news piece by major networks and publications. If that is not evidence of bias and agenda, then there is no making my point. But if you follow me, take for example this ABC News Poll where Palin is unqualified for... well just about anything.

Another example would be the piling on of Palin's daughters pregnancy while John Edward's got a pass from reporters for months if not years on his adultery. The list could go on.

French Stand Up For France

We American's have all heard the stories about how France wouldn't be here if it wasn't for the Allies in World War II. We have heard plenty of stories about how the French have no backbone and let others do their fighting. More importantly we hear about how the French dodge important issues and don't stand up for themselves or what is right.

The culture of European nations is much more obvious in its discussion AND tolerance and intolerance of racism, nationalism and sexism. You could call it complaints based on acceptance. Yet for France to take exception to their anthem sets the stage for all Frenchmen to subject themselves to world criticism over national pride. And should the world condemn them, France's indignation will ultimately gain them respect. They can't lose on this decision in this writers opinion. They have in fact taken the high road in this bold decision.

Good for them. Like others, I've had my issues with French opinion and moral global positions. This is one that earns my respect. Even if they change their mind (and may buckle), the fact they stood their ground on this issue in the first place is a welcome sight.

Palin didn't know it for two reasons.

1. Because the Bush Doctrine is NOT written by the Bush Administration, it's the product of the press. The Press has defined the Bush Doctrine.... four times over.

2. She didn't know the Bush Doctrine because she doesn't follow it. ...So where do the ads of four more years of Bush even make sense?

Meanwhile I hear, "Let's not play politics as usual" while they are being played. I was on the fence on Obama, I was. Believe me or not, I don't care. I live in Delaware a state worth nothing in electoral votes. And even worse, who cares how I vote? But if this crap keeps up, Obama's use of the democratic attack machine will turn me off to any message he may have worth hearing.

It appears Republicans and Democrats are going to cut the country in half again. I really wish we didn't even have a two or more party system. I hate the General Election years. Friends bicker, families stress, this is not America. We should do better.

It's amazing to me that bias of editors can reach this level.

The headline of this Time Online UK web article reads:

The point of such a headline and article is to once again make out Americans or in this case the evil Republican Party of Americans as imbeciles, backwoods thinkers, dim, over-patriotic, and the list can go on of negative attributes.

The representation of last nights speech by Governor Sarah Palin is at best unfair and at worst propaganda to fight against our country being anything remotely close to classy. No offense to the British biased media but America has come a long way from the typical 'stupid' American wandering other countries in sneakers and bad shirts with dress socks on while wearing shorts. And we certainly don't expect others to speak English while visiting other countries. In fact, we do more keeping to our own borders as we know how unwelcome we are treated in most other countries.

We got the message.

Now these other countries expect us to run our elections based on the needs of the world or their fickle desires?

America gets it more than you know.

To my fellow Americans, Republican or Democrat. Read the article above and realize what we face. Today it was a Republican facing ridicule. Tomorrow it could be a Democrat and be warned, should either Democrat or Republican be voted to the White house this fall, either one will be expected to do the worlds bidding or made a fool of.

Sad that our country has helped so many countries around the world and this is the reward we reap.

Vice Presidential Nominee Sarah Palin - One Hell of a Speech

You have to wonder if kids know more than adults. My two sons have been harping on me for weeks to vote for McCain. I've been undecided for months. Not that I love McCain, and certainly not that I'm endeared to Obama. They both have strengths and weaknesses. Obama's choice in Biden helped on foreign policy but anyone from Delaware knows, despite Biden's so called strength of foreign policy, he's still a guy that says ridiculous things that he looks just as bad later explaining.

Which leads me to Sarah Palin. I've watched Good Morning America's Democrat leaning workforce attack Governor Palin since the weekend after McCain announced her as his running mate choice. I purposely recorded Governor Palin at the Republican Convention on ABC just to hear how Diane Sawyer and crew would react to whatever Governor Palin had to say.

It all started with Rudy Giuliani going after Obama on substance. Impressive points and serious attack words were involved. It's politics I get it.

Then Sarah Palin took the stage. Like everyone unfamiliar with her, I wanted to see if all the hype was founded. In a word, Wow! She stood on one hell of a resume, she was no shrinking violet and she was real.

I've never heard a Vice Presidential speech spoken so well. Not by any man and yes this was a woman. As a man I had my guard slightly up because I wanted to know that she was of substance and not just a pretty face. Don't get me wrong, I wanted her to be good and she was. My point is that we men love pretty faces and it clouds our judgment, or should I say, "can" cloud our judgment. Russia Eyes Ukraine Next

I've been telling friends for weeks now that Russia's next move is Ukraine. The puppet President of Russia and it's true ruler Vladimir Putin have been all be telling the world of their intentions. This must not be allowed to happen. Apathy is not just an American flaw, the entire world needs to wake up to what is happening. It seems only Poland has realized or learned from the first go around how to protect it's sovereign territory.

It appears only the countries affected by Russia's interest in restoring it's Iron Curtin are speaking up and repeating the same message:

UKRAINE - President Victor Yushchenko made it clear Russia's actions are "a threat to everyone, not just for one country."

GEORGIA - President Mikheil Saakashvili mirrored that sentiment "This story is no longer about my small country, but the west's ability to stand it's ground and defend a principled approach to international security."

Private Obama Conversation

There are a number of issues both candidates are strong on, and I still have not determined my vote for the general election. This conversation is obviously telling; between Obama and the UK's Prime Minister David Cameron. Some say it was staged. Cynics abound. I'm a bit wiser than that. Remember, this conversation was not meant to be on the record and was picked up by a nearby ABC News boom microphone. Both parties seemingly had no idea they were being recorded. Read for yourself:

"You should be on the beach," Cameron told Obama. "You need a break. Well, you need to be able to keep your head together."
"You've got to refresh yourself," agreed Obama.

"Do you have a break at all?" asked Cameron.

"I have not," said Obama. "I am going to take a week in August. But I agree with you that somebody, somebody who had worked in the White House who -- not Clinton himself, but somebody who had been close to the process -- said that, should we be successful, that actually the most important thing you need to do is to have big chunks of time during the day when all you're doing is thinking. McCain and Obama on Oil and Gas

Here is my take. If you know me, I'm a Republican. I'm center on social issues.

My vote is up for grabs. I have never voted Democrat for President, not because I don't want to, it's just where my votes happened to have gone in the past. I won't vote on one issue either. However one issue is hot for me, that is oil and gas. More specifically how we are powering our vehicles. If you've read my past articles I think corn is being wasted on ethanol and hybrids are a stop-gap but no solution. We can go electric and some companies have.

We have a plant here in Delaware that can be converted to an electric car assembly line. Jobs for Delaware, less... scratch that NO dependency on foreign oil. Let the Saudis swim in their oil and keep it.

Our country being great is not my agenda. It's about a number of things. Doing the right thing by our planet, saving our economy and not being dependent on other countries for our own well being.

Our next President needs to figure this out. Our next President needs to do more than talk change, they need to make it happen. Obama talks a great game, but I'm not thrilled on substance. McCain talks a weak game but strangely enough has offered more ideas.   But neither has offered the right solution. When they both snipe each other by putting down the others ideas.... that bothers me.

Mr. McCain and Mr. Obama... I'm looking for your ideas and offerings, not your put downs. Put up or shut up is how I work.

I'd love to read this article two years from now and see if ANYTHING has changed other than the price of gas. None of us have a crystal ...

You know, I'm not super political. I don't know if Presidents do more than accomplish being a figure head, but I do know that I want someone in office I can respect.

This video shows a reprehensible nature I am shocked to see. In this video Hillary Clinton suggests that Bobby Kennedy was shot before the general election, therefore why should she get out if there is a chance Obama could be shot too? Sure she can hide behind the ambiguity of this statement if she desires and undoubtably she will.   But let us all face it as adults there is little else to draw from such a comment aside from, "Can someone please kill Barack Obama?" She clearly hopes for obsequiousness by anyone willing to act on her innuendo.

Can We Make a Difference? - US and World need to Boycott Olympics in China

They say one man can make a difference. I've never believed it. Never. But today I'm wholy outraged by China and their actions towards monks and people of Tibet.

We as a world should act swiftly. What does China care about? Currently it is the Olympics. The Chinese government has gone as far as limiting the pet population for "sanitary" reasons resulting in death camps for house cats. The Chinese government is utterly cruel and inhumane in every way imaginable.

With the oppression of Tibet (dating back years), China is flexing its inhuman might and must be stopped. The Chinese government is exterminating people. China is killing innocent people.

NOT FOR CHILDREN'S VIEWING

We as a world must unite to help the peaceful people of Tibet. Tibet's existence is now the responsibility of the world community. That is YOU and ME. That is every one of us that are aware of what is happening to the people of Tibet. Some of the greatest souls on this planet are being exterminated and what are we doing?

We do have a voice. Every government needs to pull out of the Olympics in protest. That must be done and is ONLY a start.

What can you do now? Call your congressman, have them be our voice and let every country step up. If it takes US to take the lead, then so be it. But it is not about who steps up first, it is how fast we step up. People are dying.   Google your congressman, contact your elected officials. Our Olympic committee needs to act. Fast.   We all need to show China we care about the country of Tibet.

E-mail your friends. Get a list going.... someone create an Internet chain letter of awareness. We must try.

Who Care's About Family Values?

I do! I just read a quote by Michele Obama and I couldn't agree more. She brings into questions Hillary Clinton's husband and former President Bill Clinton. Michelle says: "'One of the most important things that we need to know about the next President of the United States is, is he somebody that shares our values? Is he somebody that respects family? Is a good and decent person? So our view was that, if you can't run your own house, you certainly can't run the White House."

Michelle is most likely going to be counter attacked for saying this by the Clinton's as this was not by Hillary's doing etc... and that Hillary was the victim and this could blow up on the Obama's but that is beside the point for me.

The point I agree with is that values matter. Some people talk about them, some live them. And sadly like in the case of Bill Clinton, no one really cared. And no one will care here. The values of a loving family that respects each other are far lost and I don't see very many people in power setting a good example let alone caring.   With lawyers and such leading the way to demphasize the importance of fidelity, the fabric of our values and what we value as families are being torn apart. Michelle makes a great point but no one will hear it other than to deflect it as an attack on innocent Hillary. She didn't cheat, Bill did. How is it Hillary's fault? And so it goes, another important point and discussion will be lost on blame shifting in politics.   Personally as a Republican, I'm leaning towards the Obama camp. A Republican wants to stop the Illegal Immigrant Invasion?

Now that's news! Today the headline read: "Giuliana Vows to Stop Illegal Immigrants" but I've heard that before.

As a registered Republican, my vote is way up in the air right now. I could vote Democrat or Republican, my vote won't hinge on one issue but a big one to me is our borders. I'm so sick of hearing how we can't just close off our borders to the world. Yes we can! Times are-a-changin'! Have you heard that before?

Rudy Giuliani is a great shoot from the hip guy and I do recall him actually getting things done in New York when he cared for that state but I am so tired of hearing words from just about every candidate that they will do something only to forget what they spoke about later. At least in today's news Giuliani gave an outline of his plan. He proposes a tamperproof ID card (relative statement) that includes fingerprinting for everyone entering the country and a central database to track when they leave. Wow, that is a lot of terrabytes of data and heck! A lot of terrabytes of RAM! A central database sounds great. Now who is going to design develop and implement it? Ah... this will never happen.

Giuliani is even on record as insisting all immigrants who become citzens learn English. This country is way too touchy feely for that to happen. But a guy can dream can't he?

OK, mark Giulani off your list as probable next President. He has too high of hopes for this place. LOL
