It's been a little over a week since this injury. My wrist and leg hurt often, but I have help from friends and my kids to do the things I can't on my own.

A group of friends and my boys all took part in the First Night celebration in downtown Wilmington Delaware this year. It was bitter cold and the crowd was small as far as I could tell. Here I couldn't help but get take a photo op next to the Barbecue stand. And the sign didn't lie, it actually was some amazing meat. LOL

Road Rash

Having a hard time typing this one. Right arm cracked up in road accident tonight. Featured above is my lower extremities... Road rash.

Basically I got clipped by a blue honda coming out of the YMCA/Keene Elementary/Troop 2 area entering route 40. I was wearing my helmet and a friend that is a nurse (thanks Val) came and took me to the ER. I was told by my ER nurse that shaving my legs saved me from a leg scraping procedure due to the road rash. Go figure. Missed, work and I can't type. This post is taking forever... But friends wanted to see what it looked like. My right arm is in a splint and thankfully not broken; but it sure feels like it.

Me at the Y. When the boys are at school, I jet over to the Y on my lunch hour for a workout. I've made a lot of great friends at the YMCA. From instructors and staff to other members. I feel like I should be paying rent I'm there often enough. Our Little League had our last board meeting at the Y as well. They were like, "Didn't you just leave?" :)

Solace

One of my favorite words is 'solace'. It's a word that is truthful. Safety is ephemeral. It must be created or nurtured to exist. When you take that break from the hard effort you put in, solace is a temporary friend.

When I wrote Seek No Solace, I understood the word at infinite levels. Here is A-ha's interpretation on the word. It's a pensive and passionate song. You should seek it out. But these moments of solace won't last.
