Couldn't resist a photo op with Alaska's Governer!

Wilmington Delaware doesn't play second to any city on Halloween. Each year downtown Wilmington becomes party central for the over 21 crowd. Never to be missed, this is a life experience you can't just show up to, you must participate or experience the embarrassment of being the only person on the planet to show up without a costume. What happens on Loop Night? Starting at 8pm the conservative stuffy banking town of Wilmington is born again. Buses drive in a loop around preeminent bars. You pay for a wristband at any bar and from there you get all night access to the buses and bars they hit.

Over the years I've personally witnessed amazing expressions of originality, and many times as groups. Themes include, The Addams Family, The Knights Who Say Ni and The Brady Kids dressed in their jumpsuits with racing stripes. They even performed Keep On Movin in the street. This had people in stitches if you've ever watched a Brady Bunch episode. One year a The Flintstones showed up with their stone wheeled car. I don't know how they made entrance into any of the clubs but they drew a crowd everywhere they were.

Where did this now famous Halloween Loop come from? Uninformed rumors in the early days had people thinking it was sponsored by University of Delaware campus clubs and frats that drove busloads of students into town so they could party. The truth is the Halloween Loop begat from the concept of various loop nights meant to showcase Delaware bands back in the late seventies and early eighties. The bar hopping idea was applied to other loops like an Art Loop too. Nothing has taken on the size and recognition of the Wilmington Halloween loop.

I volunteered to help out for free comic book day on May 5th 2007 as Spider-Man before I sold my costume. My father and boys where there too. It was funny, I had hundreds of kids taking photos with me as Spider-Man but I had to keep whispering to my son here in the photo... "I'm not dad, I'm Spider-Man buddy, don't call me dad right now..." <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

So he would walk away and come back a minute later standing underneath me with his arm around my leg... and he would then say in a bragging voice to what seemed no one in particular...."Spider-Man is my dad, yeah."

I wanted to laugh my ass off. He is unbearably cute. Check out <?xml:namespace prefix = st2 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st2:PersonName><?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas:contacts" /><st1:GivenName>Darth</st1:GivenName> <st1:Sn>Vader</st1:Sn></st2:PersonName> signing autographs behind us! LOL This was actually a fun event. My boys took loads of photos with superheroes and villains alike. There were a lot of costumed heroes there. They tell us they had over 2,000 attendees at free comic book day. I know I signed a lot of autographs and held a lot of kids. There is something about putting a smile on a kids face. I suggest anyone that has the time, volunteer to do something for a child. The reward is priceless.

Yet another view of the raised webbing and block pattern on the lycra SpiderMan costume. Notice the black spider is also raised.

The lense assemble is very nice and you can see out of the lenses very easily. You can put the mask on with total confidence that you are not going to do damadge to it.

Appraised at $1,700.00 U.S. dollars I wouldn't sell it for less.

Here you get a real good look at the raised webbing and block pattern on the lycra SpiderMan costume.

You may not notice but there is not bottom to the shoes. You can wear your own under it or just wear some heavy duty black socks or kung fu shoes.

Appraised at $1,700.00 U.S. dollars I wouldn't sell it for less.

OK, this one is a bit blurry but you get the idea. The lenses are perfectly easy to see through.

Appraised at $1,700.00 U.S. dollars I wouldn't sell it for less.

The red spider is stitched and the zippers meet at the center for a one zipper feel. You can't get in this by yourself without someone else zipping you up.

The brick pattern gives it the authentic feel. The raised webbing is way cool and does NOT come off. I'm real impressed.
