The long line of bunkers on the tapeline (edge of playing field) offers great opportunity for advance, however it is a hot position.  It is a major problem to the opposing team in terms of advancing too.  But alas, never think you are alone in the snake unless you clear it first.  Here I'm about to take aim, waiting for an opposing player to pop out of the snake at the other end of the snake.  Then I can advance should I get him.   You have to keep your head down too, when the other team knows you are there (and they usually do) they announce, "snakes hot!" Hot is a term that means the location is occupied by an opponent (in this case me).  I'm hearing "snake's hot!" and I'm aware that my head better be kept down until I've had a chance to carefully pop up and survey where my opponents are, or better yet, until I've heard my own team give me recon on where I should be shooting BEFORE I come up.

In short the snake is a "hot" position with a lot to do, just getting there can be a real pain in the ass.
